Jorh-el Aburto”, better known by his stage name J Smooth, is an American rapper, music video director and hip hop producer from Los Angeles, California. Fresh out of the U.S. Army, the honorably discharged J Smooth hit the ground running. This Los Angeles native first hit the scene as a trash talking jokester on the Wilmer Valderrama Executive Produced reality TV game show Yo Momma which aired on the MTV Networks in 2006. His freestyle rapping skills came in handy and his personality helped him shine and gain recognition In 2005, he founded his own record label 570 Records and his music videos gained popularity through Myspace and YouTube.

In 2007, J Smooth was named "Artist of the Year" by reggaetonnica.com voters, for his musical contributions to the hip-hop and reggaeton genre and also for his many contributions to the Latino community. From there J Smooth began working on a mix tape and doing performances in local clubs and festivals, all the while working on his first album “Done Properly”-a Double Disc with the first CD dedicated to English/Hip Hop and the other to Spanish/Reggaeton. J Smooth's own unique flow of mixing English and R&B to the Latin genre was clearly visible. The album was released in August 2007 and was well received by audiences (both in the English & Spanish speaking communities) selling close to 10,000 copies independently through his own label 570 Records.

His 2nd album "Plan B" also a bilingual multi-genra album was released in Nov 2010 was distrubuted digitaly on a number of online music stores like Itunes, Amazon, & Napster fans enjoyed a number of music videos and singles that cam out of this album which fans dowloaded to there computers and mobile devices.
Currently J Smooth is working with music producer Imfamous writing and producing for R&B and Pop artists as well as working on his fist all English Hip-Hop album "Flight Plan". The new album due out 2011.
Since the release of his first album, J Smooth has toured Central American Countries like Mexico, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica a number of times, as well as having successful performances in major city’s across the U.S like Miami, New York, Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco, Hollywood, Long Beach and Los Angeles, has been "Nicaraguan Artist of the Year" 07-09 and has performed and toured with a number of major artists, both Hip Hop and Reggaeton such as Pitbull, Sean Paul, Daddy Yankee, Tego Calderon, Aventura, to name a few. With his high energy live show, the charismatic J Smooth entertains and ignites audiences with superstar stage presence and veteran crowd control.
With a long list of credentials, J Smooth has the ability to put on any hat and fill any shoe he needs to. This very versatile individual not only sings but raps in both English and Spanish, is a well respected writer, dancer, engineer, producer, director, host and a humanitarian. J Smooth started the non-profit organization “La Esperanza” that raises money for underprivileged school children in Third World countries, and J Smooth is always donating his talent to good causes.
